TAG Heuer’s partnership with the English Premier League bears its first fruit for watch enthusiasts, with the Swiss watchmaker unveiling the first watch of the partnership – the TAG Heuer Premier League Special Edition Aquaracer.
The unveiling of this watch comes six months after the partnership was first announced, a partnership which has so far seen match officials sporting TAG Heuer’s line of smartwatches – TAG Heuer Connected, and the fourth official’s board being shaped like a TAG Heuer Carrera watch this season.
In addition, the deal saw TAG Heuer become the official timekeepers for the English Premier league, along with a range of co-branded promotions at football grounds – including the fan-favourite “Pressure Test” competitions, and the watchmaker’s logo being featured onscreen during live matches.
TAG Heuer Premier League Special Edition Aquaracer
The TAG Heuer Premier League Special Edition is a 43mm diameter Aquaracer that offers high-accuracy timekeeping, thanks to the Calibre 5 automatic movement.
Made from steel, this watch features a black, ceramic uni-directional bezel, an elegant anthracite grey dial with sunray effect, and engraved silver 45-minute numerals to time each half of a football match – with 15 minutes of extra time lacquered red.
In addition, the Premier League’s lion logo can be found on its face, positioned at 9 o’clock, and the “MatchTimer” inscription can be found in its centre, adding a further nod to the football pedigree of this watch. Hands are rhodium-plated, with the second hand being lacquered red, and boasts white, SuperLuminova™ coated baton indexes to improve their visibility in poor light conditions, particularly for evening football matches.
The TAG Heuer Premier League Special Edition is available now, and retails at around £2,150.
